Emotional Nutrition

We are the environment and the environment is us. How we perceive and relate to the outside world is a mirror of our own internal chemistry. Once we have become somewhat regenerated on raw food the body’s reaction to anything harmful to life becomes more acutely obvious. For example if I eat cheese the emotional repercussions are: Lower energy for exercise and sex ( while increase in sex drive), inability to focus the mind, pain of loneliness, depression, futility, hardness or inhibition of native compassion and heart expansion. I can literally feel the heat of my immune system firing into action for hours after the consumption of cheese. The associated adrenaline rush is greater than with coffee and interferes with the natural sleep cycle. These affects no doubt only occur with pasteurized cheese. Raw cheese, that is cheese that has not been denatured through heating, would not create such radical symptoms. Just as with drug trips, the exact psychological and emotional responses produced by any substance is reliant on the background state in which it was eaten. The emotional symptoms of frustration, irritation, fear, helplessness etc... perfectly mirror the physical, chemical and electromagnetic restraints put on the flow of consciousness in the body! Activation of the adrenal glands during the immune response to cooked food makes one aggressive or hyper and then after the crisis is over we become lethargic and depressed. To have the energy for spiritual growth we need only prevent the continual dissipation and repression of our energy. The gate of life—the kidneys and adrenal glands, need to be healed and fortified to reinstate the “will to evolve.” The will to evolve is regeneration or the maximum flow of life energy and consciousness (faith).

To rebuild the gate of life relationships need to be mended, cooked food must be avoided and stimulants like coffee, tea, alcohol etc... must be stopped. The strength of discipline to make these changes comes from regenerating the gate of life and preventing the continual exploitative loss of energy. With the agitation of the sympathetic nervous system relieved the autonomic nervous system can balance itself. In this balance (the sacred marriage of yin and yang) comes the refinement of one’s energy to embody greater states of awareness, peace, effectiveness and sensation.

Once we have been raw for awhile we tend to gag or cough on the consumption of cooked food. The digestive system’s natural response to harmful substances is quickly recovered on a raw diet and our body makes it plainly obvious that it doesn’t want anything to do with cooked food. In a raw body even boiled water is felt as metallic, biting or prickly to the GI tract. An indication that it’s properties or the minerals within it have changed to a form incompatible with life. The quality of the digested food transiting the colon greatly affects our emotions and influences what we are “driven” to eat. The last part of the colon especially is very reflective of one’s mood and the degree of pain and fear in the body. I suspect that this is the result of the products of mal-digested foods and combinations we should not be eating. That this emotional disturbance becomes very obvious at the end of the digestive cycle must be related to the fact that this is when “water” is absorbed from the feces. Cooked foods, and especially cooked proteins and things like bread, tend to dry out too much in the colon creating constipation. This unnatural backing up of what is already unnatural food, produces negative emotional states and lowers consciousness. The body may even be triggered to binge when constipated to push the food through. Cooked and acid producing foods create this toxic condition, while only raw fruit and vegetables guarantee freedom from constipation and a smooth emotional life. So its seems that the greatest emotional impact from the cooked food we eat occurs just before it leaves the body. Anyone can discover this for themselves by keeping a food diary and tracking a meals’ transit through the body while casually observing mood swings.

Stress and social intimidation triggers us to eat the very foods which will create depression, anger and fear when the water is retrieved in the colon. In this way we perpetuate self-destructive chemistry long after any external trigger and our negative state tends to recreate conditions for further self abuse through mal-digestion. To break the cycle we have to learn about the neurological effects of primate social power structures, how fear operates in the body and we have to observe how we are triggered. Then we must learn to change our coping behavior from bingeing on destructive cooked foods to things like drinking water, fasting, yoga and meditation. Only by relaxing and inviting more light into our conditional-chemistry can we overcome our self destructive reactivity.

The saying, “the little devil that sits on our shoulder,” is touch language for the tension that we hold there. Tension and pain in the right neck and shoulder stems from the health level of the liver and tension in the left neck and shoulder is related to spleen function (immunity). This is easily experienced through “felt-sense” in a raw body on the consumption of cooked food. First sensation to any food consumed is always initially felt in the left shoulder, as the immune system immediately responds to the intake. After a while the right shoulder will register its response when the liver starts processing the food molecules. However this is hard to observe in a cooked body for the permanent state of tension in both shoulders masks any slight differences within that diet. I would venture to propose that the tension, toxicity and reduced capacity caused by a cooked diet is the origins of all neurosis, for it perpetuates anti-Spirit conditions in body, mind, emotions, relationships, culture and environment. As our organs become congested, contracted, laden with toxins and diseased the corresponding nerves and nerve plexus lose their efficiency. It is my felt-sense that organs, such as the liver, spleen, kidneys etc... that are struggling, affect the transmission of nerve energy into the spine. And that when the back muscles contract and pull vertebrae out of place, they do so to the tune of the associated disharmonious organs. All this tension, toxic congestion and enervation reduces the flow of energy and information to the brain. The nervous system can then no longer govern the elimination and repair functions and the body slowing grinds to a halt...which we call cancer, heart disease, diabetes or whatever. This is the basis of the dis-integration of body, mind and soul.

When denatured substances such as cooked food are eaten, irritation, congestion and an adrenal rush occurs, along with a general alert of “danger to the organism.” This incapacitation and real threat to life leads to the biological urge to procreate. Low conscious sex and sex crime are no doubt inexorably linked to the wholesale deterioration of individuals and generations living on a cooked food diet. Accepting this to be so, would mean that an ethical society would be required to make all prisons into permaculture farms. By remineralizing the soil and eating only raw organic food the inmates would be regenerated up to a socially responsive level of morality. There is no other method to authentically rehabilitate people than through regeneration and reconnection to the law of the land.

One of the main arguments people give against themselves adopting a 100% raw food diet is that they are afraid they will become over-sensitive and vulnerable to the coarseness, corruption and pollution of modern life. Negativity abounds and people assume that the conciliatory, congesting food substances will buffer them from the full on impact of a cruel world. However this is not the case, for such food reduces consciousness and makes us emotionally weak and reactive. Cooked food makes us angry and hyper reactive to all negative emotions and irritating situations. Therefore raw food is the only way to rise above the low vibration of one's environment to find a better way and to effortlessly brush off negativity. All the pains and fears of the world can be transmuted to love in a highly spiritualized body. This is the task of the ascenders, to show a better way and short circuit the endless play of reactive madness with love. The only way to counter negativity and anti-life forces is to become more alive, not to self-destruct.

Once self-dispossession is overcome through regeneration of the bodymind a wonderful new experience of freedom and safety of being anywhere in the world occurs. With a receptive strong bodymind, threat and insult are more clearly perceived, however such “danger to the ego” doesn’t strike us in the heart like it used to, because we no longer resonate strongly with the base emotions. I can’t tell you the relief and pleasure that results purely from letting up the defenses against being hurt. When we remember that love is the only true defense we no longer become a target. Safe inside=safe outside. Meditation on the sun greatly expedites the self-possession necessary to be able to use love as the defensive force field for well being and survival. With regeneration, raw food and spiritual practice we conduct so much light we no longer fear darkness.
